Kitchen Storage Stickers

Most of the dry food ingredients we buy from the grocery stores or those home made ones that sometimes do not get used up in one meal means that we may like to save it for another day. This means that we might need to store them in jars and containers having inadvertently torn their wraps up or made more than you need for one meal. You dont need to worry because I have thought of a careful and more organised way to keep them handy.Good old labelling will keep us remembering what is in each can or jar.we will be needing plain kitchen stickers .These you can find at bookstores. The plain ones will be appropriate as you will be hand printing on them.Alternativley you can print from your computer.

Items you need:

Plain colourful sticker (be sure to buy non glossy surface, alternatively you can cut some plain printing papers to size.
Pen (dark colour)
Adhesive (if you are using cut to size printing papers).

Gather all your materials together and start hand printing in block letters the ingredient name and the date it was prepared.keeping it brief and readable and centralised.
eg:JAM
1/3/10

SALT
24/7/10

The import of the date is to keep you informed about when it is no longer safe to use the ingredient.Be sure to place the sticker at the center of the storage can or container. For cut out printing papers apply the adhesive at the ends of the paper so as not to run the ink of the pen.Arrange your storage according to height as this will make for easy accessibility.
While those requiring cold storage should be kept in the refrigerator.
The tips expressed on this page is not final, let me know your own way of labelling.
